Shelly DeMeo is the Founder of Kneading Time Holistic Therapy Center. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist through the state medical board of Ohio, Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She has an Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology from the University of Toledo and for over 14 years has worked as a Certified Cardiovascular Tech and Registered Cardiac Sonographer performing cardiac ultrasounds and exercise stress testing.


Shelly DeMeo graduated from the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy in 2001. Her professional certifications include Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Pregnancy Massage, Sports Massage I & II, Reiki and is a certified Level II Crystalline Consciousness Technique™ practitioner Shelly specializes in chronic pain relief with a focus on relaxation and wellness. "My approach in a massage therapy deals with integrating several types of techniques depending on the needs of my client for each individual session. I usually incorporate some stretching, joint mobilization, and breath awareness to help provide my clients with a complete mind-body connection. I offer a firm, gentle touch helping clients to achieve a comfortable state of relaxation while still obtaining therapeutic results."

 

Shelly is also a Birth Doula and currently provides her services as a birth assistant at Mother's Own Birth and Women's Center where she begin working in 2003. Shelly's Doula services are available for hire in the North West Ohio and South Eastern Michigan area. Shelly received her Birth Doula training through the Center for The Childbearing Year in Ann Arbor, Mi. in 2005. In the summer of 2008 traveled to Ina May Gaskins "The Farm " an intentional living community in Tennessee for additional training as  Midwives Assistant.‘


At this time I have attended ~130 births, 95% of which were out of hospital, and feel privileged to have been present at each and every one!"

 

Personal Note: My interest in complimentary healthcare was ignited in 1999 with the introduction of the healing energy of Reiki.
